Daniel James (Co-Director)

Photograph of Daniel JamesDaniel James (formerly Daniel Agnihotri-Clark) is a hybrid media artist, curator, writer, musician and general tech geek, based in Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand. He has also worked on video, audio and hybrid media projects for a number of professional clients. He has a wealth of experience in filming, editing and post-production roles, and he has managed complex on-site technical logistics for a number of live events.

Working as an artist/curator, Daniel's projects traverse the disciplines of video, sound, sculpture, installation, live performance (audio, video and cyberformance), Web-based media and robotics. His work has reached audiences both locally and internationally - including audiences in London, Berlin, Barcelona and Melbourne, and online audiences worldwide (through live-to-Web events). Daniel is in the final year of a doctorate in fine arts at Massey University, Wellington (where he also works part-time as a tutor).

daniel also performs in the live audiovisual bands anaesthesia associates and the axis of weevils, and he dj's under the pseudonym copycat crime.

Somewhere amongst all of this Daniel also found the time to completely shatter his right ankle, and to become co-director of Stray Media.

Michelle Hughes (Co-Director)

Photograph of Michelle HughesMichelle Hughes is a director, producer and new media enthusiast with a whole lot of experience in digital production, online marketing, and online media sales. Michelle has over five years experience working in online media industry and is currently the new media business manager of five technology websites in Auckland, New Zealand. She is also responsible for marketing the international open-source film project, Stray Cinema.

At Stray Cinema she was responsible for the production of new media such as vlogs, online press conferences, blogs, viral video and social media to promote the website. As a result Stray Cinema has been talked about on over 50 websites, blogs and print media around the world, including high profile publications like The UK Daily Telegraph and the Sydney Morning Herald.

Michelle loves to cook healthy food with seeds in it, shop for vintage items, watch international films and geek out on her computer. She is obsessed with finding that special place where art meets technology.
